Offshore Diving Industry Agreement
Valid: 1st January 2026 - 31st December 2026
Important Notice
- Rate Increase: Basic Day Rates increased by 4.5% from 31st December 2025
- Allowances: All allowances (6b, 6c, 6d) increased by 3.8%
- Role Requirement: Day rates apply when Employee is actually engaged to work in the designated role during diving operations
- Holiday Pay: All rates now include separate holiday pay component

💰 Saturation Diver Daily Pay Example
A Diver working in saturation receives BOTH their day rate AND saturation pay:
Basic Day Rate (surface supplied or bell):
£462.31 + £56.60 holiday = £518.91
Saturation Pay (24 hours):
£1,165.68 + £142.80 holiday = £1,308.48
Total Daily Pay in Saturation:
£1,827.39 per day
Note: Professional Divers in saturation would earn even more: £829.05 (day rate) + £1,308.48 (sat pay) = £2,137.53 per day
Allowances (2026)
Safety Boots
£0.69
Per day (Clause 6b). Not paid if employer provides boots.
Divers Medical
£2.19
Per day (Clause 6c). Not paid if employer covers medical costs.
First Aid & O₂ Admin
£1.54
Per day for qualified personnel (Clause 6d-1).
Diving Medical Technician

Per day for IMCA DMT or approved similar (Clause 6d-2).
OPITO Rigger Certificate

Per day for Stage 1 or above (Clause 6d-3).
CSWIP Qualification

Per day for 3.1 or 3.2u as required (Clause 6d-4).
Travel Arrangements
Travel Costs from Home
Travel from mobilisation point (designated UK mainland port or airport) covered by employer via ONE of the following methods (at employer's sole discretion):
- Option 1: Company funds all UK travel arrangements per company travel policy - either booking travel directly or reimbursing actual costs via expenses
- Option 2: Daily travel allowance of £30.00 per day

- Validity Period: All rates valid from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026
- Holiday Pay: Now separated from basic day rate for clarity and compliance
- Allowance Increases: All allowances (6b, 6c, 6d) increased by 3.8% for 2026
- Professional Diver Qualifications: Professional Diver rates require demonstrated IMCA competencies plus proficiency in minimum 4 additional specialist skills
Role Descriptions
Key Position Definitions:
Diving Roles
- M G Superintendent: Highest diving authority - responsible for all mixed gas, closed bell, and saturation operations, safety systems, and regulatory compliance
- M G Supervisor: Supervises mixed gas and saturation operations, chamber operations, complex dive procedures
- Surface Supplied Superintendent: Senior management overseeing surface supplied diving projects and regulatory compliance
- Surface Supplied Supervisor: Supervises surface supplied operations from topside, manages dive plans and safety
- Professional Diver: Diver with 100+ dives, demonstrated IMCA competencies, and proficiency in 4+ specialist skills (oxy-arc, HP water jetting, hydraulics, NDT)
- Diver (surface supplied or bell): Qualified commercial diver for surface or closed bell operations
Life Support & Technical
- Life Support Supervisor (LSS): Responsible for all life support systems, chamber operations during saturation, emergency procedures
- Life Support Technician (LST): Operates and maintains diving life support including gas mixing, chambers, breathing gas supply
- Assistant LST (ALST): Entry-level life support learning gas systems and chamber operations
- Senior Technician: Advanced maintenance and troubleshooting specialist
- Technician: Maintains diving equipment, compressors, hydraulics, and general systems
Deck Operations
- Rigging Foreman: Supervises deck crews and coordinates rigging operations
- Rigger: Experienced deck crew handling lifting operations and rigging equipment
- Trainee Rigger: Entry-level position learning rope work, rigging, and deck operations
